Today is raining a lot and I love it, because rain is really scarce in this corner of the world. It’s monsoon season in Arizona. My home is dark and all is quiet. I’ve snapped some photos in my backyard last week. Summertime inspires me. The light is so beautiful late afternoon, it’s usually overcast and moody.

I wish I could travel this Summer, not sure where though. Maybe I’d like to see England’s country side and its gorgeous farmlands, lonely beaches and old cottages. Money doesn’t grow in my veggie garden and we will stay close to home this year. It’s ok, we have a new cat and he is so sassy! He doesn’t like being held, and loves wrestling with anything, including my arms! Seems he found a favorite place to sleep…right by my pillow. One more cat to share the bed with and I am glad it is a big California king bed  for me, my husband and 4 cats!

These past days I have not sewed anything. I took a break to work in the backyard. We ended up contracting some guys to finish the garden pebble pathway I started sometime ago, because it was just too much work for us. These landscapers stopped by early morning and finished the job in just a few hours. I couldn’t be happier. I will show some pictures later.

My boys love sleeping in. They will sleep past 10 if I let oldest came by while I was checking my messages to ask for breakfast and then stared at the birds outside the window when I shot his picture. He’s growing so fast…clichè, I know. They all do, hu? But I still can’t believe he turned 12 last month.

Very soon school year starts again and I just hate so much that it will start the first week of August! How crazy is that? My husband told me that when he was a kid, first day of school was after Labor Day. Seriously…time goes so fast and I wish we had one more month to enjoy Summer.

I wish I could be far away photographing gorgeous landscapes, seascapes and flower fields, but all I can do now is to find beauty in my backyard…

Whenever I see new photos you post of
the boys, my mind is BLOWN! They have
grown up so much!! And your wonderful
little world there in AZ looks so serene.
Could I come with you when you decide
to hop over to the other side of the “pond”?
